Chestnut Nursery School Markyate have been very busy this past month, with charity fundraising, Parents' Day, Christmas-themed activities and playing in the snow!
Children In Need Fund Raising – Children made iced biscuits and dressed up in their PJs. The families managed to raise £45.70!
Parents' Day – Markyate held our first Parents' Day since lockdown. We had a fantastic turn out of parents, a brilliant way to work in partnership and support the children’s learning and development.
Christmas Jumper Day - Children and staff took part in Christmas Jumper Day and wore some amazing outfits!
Super Star Sports – Sadly, Coach Adam said goodbye to the children recently, to pursue other career paths - we wish him all the best. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the weekly sessions learning different ball skills. We are pleased to announce that Monica will be taking over, and we look forward to meeting her soon.
Christmas Activities – The children have been very busy with Christmas-themed activities. They have decorated their Christmas tree and been very creative with arts and crafts.
Snow Day - When the children arrived at school, they were incredibly excited to see our playground covered in snow! The children used buckets and spades to stir, mix and pack snow in the outdoor kitchen; creating recipes while learning about the properties of snow and how they can change. Most importantly, the children enjoyed the beauty of nature and breathing in the fresh air.
