We are looking for a passionate, friendly and hard-working Senior Lead Practitioner to join our nursery team based at Chestnut Nursery School Halbutt Street.

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, following a shift pattern. Halbutt Street is open between the hours of 08:00 - 18:00.

The successful applicant will need to be able to lead a team, have understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS) and have a strong passion for a child-centred approach to play and learning. As a Senior Lead Practitioner you are a key member of the nursery team, working closely with the families who access the nursery and delivering high quality care and learning opportunities.

Key Duties

• Being a key person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families according to the EYFS.

• Promoting and supporting positive relationships with parents, children and colleagues.

• Take necessary steps to safeguard all who access the setting, adhering to the safeguarding policy.

• Ensuring the health, safety and well-being of the children at all times.

• Flexible in working hours if required.

• Support daily routines.

• Follow policies and procedures.

• Leading team members.

• Light cleaning duties.

• Maintain a high level of supervision.

• Maintain confidentiality.

Position Requirements

Required

• DBS will be undertaken.

• Child-centred approach to play and learning.

• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS).

• Excellent organisation skills and time-management.

• Previous room leading experience.

• Qualified Level 3.

• Knowledge & understanding of safeguarding (training provided).

Desired

• On the update service.

• 1 years+ experience.

• Previous Senior Lead experience.

• Excellent understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework (EYFS).
